In the first game of the new pre-season Whitchurch took on recently promoted Telford & Wrekin. Telford are the Midlands Champions and will play this season in the National North Division.

On an extremely warm day the sides agreed to play 3 x 20 minutes and the first period saw both sides easing themselves into the game, trying to blow away some of the cobwebs and finishing level at 0-0. The second period was much more keenly contested in midfield, with further chances created. Telford finishing 0-1 up a the break. In the thrid period Whitchurch looked to tire noticeably and conceded two sloppy goals. On the positive side - Tiff Fido scored with a very smart reverse stick shot.

Rfemarkbaly there was not a single penalty corner throughout the entire game. Manager Nazir commented; "This was a good excerise for us to see how the new faces shape up. Next weekend we should have a stronger side and will be tested. Lets hope we respond."

Next weekend Whitchurch take on Cardiff and Firebrands at Whitchurch High School, on Sunday. The squad should be strengthend with the return of Neil Potter, Jon Collis and Laithr El Khatib. Also new recruit Jonny Gordon, from Swansea Bay should make his debut.
