In a game Whitchurch fully expected to win in a convincing fashion they stuttered and failed to find the same flowing style as the day before at Holcombe. With a full squad available there were changes in personnel, but Whitchurch could not get their rhythm.

Robinsons scored from a penalty corner against the run of play and still Whitchurch created chances aplenty, without reward. Jon Collis finally forced home a penalty corner to leave the scores level at half time.

The second half was a repeat of the first - Whitchurch probe, Robinsons score, Whitchurch apply more pressure with no end product. The last fifteen minutes saw Whitchurch reduced to 10 men with Joe Naughalty picking up another yellow card. With six minutes remaining Whitchurch were reduced to nine men after Mark Whatling was given his second green for a stick tackle.

Whitchurch continued to fight to the death in what looked like a defeat to local rivals, until Laith El Khatib converted in the last minute from a penalty corner.

A point salvaged from a disappoijting performance for a talented side.
