Having made the long journey to Cambridgeshire, the 1st Team returned without any points, on the back of a convincing 6-2 defeat.
The squad was depleted, but this is no excuse, in a game where we simply did not make the expected impact.
The only bright spell of the game was the first 13 minutes of the second half, where we kept the ball well and completely denied the students any meaniful possession. Though we couldn't make the necessary inroads and only managed one penalty corner all match.
The students earned eight penalty corners and scored three. The goals can mainly be put down to sloppy defending and getting caught on the counter-attack.
This was a niave performance that was suitably punished. A repeat performance of this nature against Indian Gymkhana this weekend could result in a much heavier defeat.
