  • Pool
  • Snooker
  • Darts
  • Skittles
  • Table Football
  • Poker
Entry to each competition FREE of charge and you can enter as many of the sports competitions as you like.  Entry will be open until Monday 19th January and first round games will commence on Monday 2nd February. Each round is due to be completed within two weeks with the Finals to be held sometime in April 2009.

  • Entry Forms are available at the bar, these should be completed and returned to the bar.
  • A draw will be made for the first round matches in all sports on Monday 26th January and these matches will be posted on the notice board on that date. Their will be a finals day in April 2008, the exact date is yet to be set
  • It will be the responsibility of the first named player to make contact with their opponent to arrange a date and time to play the game, if games aren’t played prior to the completion date for that round. Names and contact numbers will be supplied. The second named player will be awarded the game unless evidence suggests the second named player caused the game not to be played. In this case an appeal will be heard by the Internal Sports Sec. and his decision will be final.
  • NOTE;  These competitions are open to all Members of all WRSSC and we encourage all Members to have a go.  The idea is to get all our different section a little closer together and to promote more active use of our tremendous Club House.  So whether footballers, rugby players, hockey players, skittlers, pool players, the Choir, or just social Members (sorry if I’ve missed any groups but you are welcome as well) then please enter at least one competition.
Any Questions please Contact Internal Sports Sec. Dave Skirrow on 07768 834676

Race Night 2008

The Race Night was a stampeding success once again, with over 70 punters pitting their wits against the tipsters and the tote. Andy King was master of ceremonies with Ben Croxall handling the technical stuff for the nine races of the evening.

Looks like we raised about £500 for the Club and provided some excellent entertainment for the evening.

Well done all involved.

Goliath of Garth

As an ode to sorely missed former member, Maurice Richardson, who is sadly no longer with us - this is a reminder of one of Mo's stock performances, that brought the house down whenever he would recite it....voices and all.

Goliath of Garth

With helmet of brass

Was seated one day

Upon the green grass

When up came slim David,

The servant of Saul,

Who said “Goliath I must smite thee

Although I’m so small”.

Slim David went down to the side of the brook

And from its still waters three small stones he took.

He took them and flung them

Without any fear and

Smote great Goliath right over his ear.

Goliath fell down in a

Swoon on the sward

And up came slim David

And pulled out his sword.

He took it and swung it

And chopped of his head

And Israel shouted

“Goliath is DEAD”.

RIP Mo.
