2013-2014 Socials Round Up

To toast in the new season, socials got kick started in October with a night out at our sponsor Tiger Tiger. A great night was had by all with lots of dancing, singing and the hope that Tiger would become a regular stop off for many after game day!

November saw the annual quiz night set at another new location – The BBC Club, in Llandaff.  This was a very successful night with over 80 attending. The winning team included a mix of the 4th and 5th team ladies and the winner of the Vodka Roll game was Owain Ryland.

In December, the Saints enjoyed their annual christmas dinner at the North Star. This was another success with 54 ladies attending to enjoy a good food, wine, laughter and some novelty awards to celebrate the first half of the season.

January saw the beginning of the second half of the season and for socials this started like the first with another social in Tiger Tiger.

Whitchurch Jockey Club Race Night was held in March at Rhibwina Recreational Club.  Traditional horse racing was seen, along with some novelty camel and pig races. It was great night of fun for all.

April saw in the end of the season with our last social - EOSDD2014. The men suited up and ladies dusted off their dancing shoes. Annual awards were presented and the end of season was celebrated in style. Please see article *opposite/above/below etc* for more information on the great night.

Whitchurch Hockey Club would like to give a massive thank you all sponsors that have donated to socials this year. This has helped the club out tremendously and without you, these socials would not have been so successful.

This year socials have raised over an incredible £1000!!!

The social aspect of Whitchurch is a massive part of the clubs funds and we would like to thank you for your continued support this season. Socials can be organised but we still need people to attend so big thanks to all that have supported these. The social committee have worked tirelessly throughout the year to put on events and raise money for the club.  It’s not an easy job trying to please the largest club in Wales, but it has been made easier by having a social committee where each member has input and small tasks to take on throughout the year.  The more people that are willing to help, the bigger and better the events can be.  Even if you can just volunteer some help for one event throughout the season, it’s a massive help.  If you’re interested in being part of the social committee next year, on a small or a big scale please get it touch!  We hope you’ve enjoyed all of the socials this year, we look forward to more of the same next season.  Fresh ideas are always welcome!

Best wishes,

Your Social Committee
