We are sad to report the recent passing of Wyndham Powell who passed away on Saturday. Wyndham was a former President and Honorary Life Member of the Whitchurch Hockey Club, a top sportsman in a number of sports

He played centre half and was a fearsome hitter of the ball! He was selected four times as a reserve for the Welsh international team, but didn’t play so didn’t get a Cap. He was however selected to play for Wales in Holland, but with two small boys couldn’t afford to go. It was quite something for a home Welsh player to get into the team which trained in Lilleshall.

We will share details of the funeral arrangements as we receive them.
